Spring "Leaning" Challenge
Monday, May 9th is the official start of the Spring "Leaning" challenge. It will be an 8-week weight/body fat loss, strength gain fitness challenge that will end on Saturday, July 2nd.

The week of May 2-7th  is "Stats Week". All stats must be completed this week. We will do a fitness evaluation for your "before" results. This includes a weigh-in and measurements. You also need to complete the before and after WOD, which is :
100 m run/50 pullups
100 m run 50 pushups
100 m run/50 situps
100 m run/50 air squats

When you do this same workout at the end of the challenge, use the same methods as you used in the beginning, i.e. if you used one green band for your pull-ups, then do the same at the end..
 You will be doing the Challenge workout this Wednesday, May 4th during your regularly scheduled boot camp class time.

A nutrition seminar will be held Saturday, May 7th at 10:00. Fitness Evaluations will be held starting at 9:00 am and after the WOD as well. Email or talk to me regarding the time for your evaluation. 

Rules:
$20 per person in cash put into a kitty. The winner gets the kitty and $50 off their fee for July.
 Scoring is as follows:
-Completing and submitting a weekly food journal (1 point for each day completed).
-Attending a Bootcamp class (1 point for each class).
-Person with the most total inches lost by the end of the lockdown (5 points). Second place for the most inches lost (4 points). Third place for the most inches lost (3 points). Fourth place for the most inches lost (2 points). Fifth place for the most inches lost (1 point).
-Person with the most muscle mass gained (Same points as inches lost).
-Person with the most time shaved off your pre-workout time.
Winner will be announced on Sunday, July 3rd.

Today - wall walks, sandbag run, tire throws
Sandy ran 300 m without stopping and did full range of motion body rows without stopping - she has had those goals for awhile now and she finally reached them. YAY Sandy!!!!!

Great day for the gym to get out of our element and put our fitness to the test.

Our reserved time slot is Saturday May 7, 2011 @ 10:30am-12:00pm. The cost is $20/pp, please sign up in the gym, we need a minimum of 12 individuals in order to take this trip. We will need to collect payment in the next week. Everyone except children are welcome to come. It will be fun!!
Weekly Shout-Outs:  Erin, Lisa and Debbie ran 3 rounds of an 800m run without stopping. Annie ran 2.2 miles without stoping (You guys - the run from the gym up the hill past Red Rocks Community College is 2.2 miles!).  Cara: 26# KB for one arm swings. Sue Ellen: 1 double under.  Erin: Lost 4 lbs and 1.5" off her hips in 1 month.

 Welcome Bridgette to boot camp!  First pullups!
 Partner warmup on Thursday. Bear crawl to each other then 20 boxer abs. Bear crawl backwards.
Partner warmup on Thursday, part 2. Inch worm to each other, 20 clapping pushups.
Mary - you are supposed to jump on TOP of the box, not put the box on TOP of your head.
